About The Speaker

Originally from Melaka, Malaysia, moved to Singapore at 15 under the ASEAN scholarship, completing his education at Raffles Institution and Hwa Chong Junior College. After graduating in Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University, he visited Kenya in 1988, an experience that deeply impacted him. After working as a tax accountant for five years, he felt a strong calling to return to Kenya. In 1995, he left his job, sold his belongings, and moved to Kenya, where he volunteered with Catholic missions. Eventually, he founded the Tana River Life Foundation (TRLF), an NGO focused on youth education and community development in the marginalised Tana Delta region. His journey reflects a deep faith in God’s guidance.

About The Speaker

Bernard is a retired secondary school teacher with a deep commitment to service and experiential learning. He has led numerous camping expeditions and overseas service trips for students. As part of ACTS (A Call to Serve), he participated in three mission trips, serving as lead coordinator for the secondary school programme in Phnom Penh. Over the pas two years, he has co-led mission trips with the Josephian Family Mission to a La Salle school in a disadvantaged village near Phnom Penh. Believing in the power of meaningful encounters and relationship-building, he views mission trips as a transformative experiences that inspire lifelong dedication to justice and service.



About The Speaker

Fr. Tito is the Executive Director of Caritas Philippines, leading its humanitarian and development programs, including education, livelihood, feeding initiatives, and the expanded Alay Kapwa Fund Campaign. He has been with Caritas Philippines since 2021, initially as Coordinating Consultant, before his appointment as Executive Director in 2024.4.

Tony Tay is a social entrepreneur and philanthropist who founded Willing Hearts, a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing free meals to the underprivileged in Singapore. Under his leadership, Willing Hearts has grown into one of the country’s leading volunteer-driven charities, serving thousands of meals daily. Tay's unwavering dedication, compassion, and selflessness have transformed countless lives and continue to inspire others to make a meaningful impact in their communities, both in Singapore and beyond.

Anne Sandra Tay is a social advocate dedicated to supporting charitable initiatives and humanitarian work. She actively supports her father, Tony Tay—the founder of Willing Hearts—in his overseas missions. Her unique blend of strategic planning and compassion allows her to expand the philanthropic reach of their initiatives. Inspired by her family's legacy, Anne champions generosity and social responsibility, positively impacting countless lives.



About The Speaker

Tony Tan, Founder, Gebirah a Member Organisation of CHARIS 

Tony describes himself as an advocate for servant leadership, a serial social entrepreneur and a struggling Catholic. As the Founder of Gebirah, he leverages technology to enhance humanitarian aid in resource-limited environments. His work, initially focused on supporting civilians affected by conflicts and disasters, now extends to aiding marginalized communities facing various hardships. With a background in long-term humanitarian missions worldwide, he now organizes weeklong experiences for those answering a call to serve. His apostolates are influenced by the Spirit of Opus Dei.


About The Speaker

Dr Leong has been a Lay Missionary with ACTS since 2018, and he currently serves as the Medical Mission Head for ACTS Battambang, Cambodia. He is the Executive Chairman of Goldplus Universal, a pharmaceutical firm specialising in the distribution of generic pharmaceuticals in Singapore, Myanmar, and Brunei. He is also a practising Family Physician and serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and an Adjunct Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS.
