"A Call to Share" — ACTS, started in 2006 to share the joy of giving to the poor and needy in the region. Each year, participants from different parishes and non-Catholics, have come together to give aid.

Whether you've been on mission before or are curious to experience what it entails, we invite you to join us for our trips during advent this year.

Interested Catholics and non-Catholics can apply on our website and will only be fully registered after attending our compulsory "Mission Awareness" session. This will help participants better understand the mission and discern whether their expectations are in keeping with its objectives and requirements.

Since 2017, our mission to the Philippines has been to a resettlement area in Cavite, a 90-minute drive south of Metro Manila. The families here live in “container” homes — small, one-room structures lined up in rows that form settlements of over 1,000 homes each. Working with the Salesian Sisters and their lay-volunteer arm, VIDES, we travel to an Elementary School in the slum area to attend to 700 students. There we conduct self-confidence and cyber-wellness programmes and organise parties for the elderly living on the streets to share Christmas joy with them.

As we are a small group of 50 on this mission, everyone is involved in all aspects of the mission. We work as a close-knit group and invite anyone aged between 17–70 to join our community and experience the Love of God among us and in the people we encounter.

Estimated Cost (SGD):

1. $210: Mission Fees – covering all transport, food and all meals for 7 days

2. ~$230: 7 nights accommodations

3. ~$250-$350: Approximate Economy airfare for SIN-MNL-SIN

Kompong Thom is a small town about two hours between Siem Reap and Phnom Penh. We work primarily with the Catholic Parish of the Good Shepherd to reach out to small communities like Kompong Roteh and Kompong Koh in two key areas: medical and education. We are looking for participants who can help with medical, nursing, teaching, life coaching and general handywork with the sick, elderly and young children attending school at the parish.

Mission fee: SGD $210

ACTS-Singapore has been working with the Salesian Sisters and the Missionaries of Charity Home Sisters for more than 15 years to bring laughter, friendship and gifts to the children, teenagers, young adults and families in their school and home.

During this time, Phnom Penh developed into a modern metropolis with associated problems.

Come with us to Phnom Penh this December to bring Advent and the coming of Christ to Cambodia.  We welcome individuals and families who want to make a difference to young people who have to grapple with the needs of living in a modern society.

Join us for a meaningful Advent experience where you will work with a small team to serve the villagers and children in Ta’Om.

Ta’Om is 60km South West of Siem Reap, the capital of Cambodia, falling under the Apostolic Prefecture of Battambang. We have been invited to work with the poor and needy in the field of education and health together with the priests who work to look after the spiritual and day-to-day needs of the area's residents.

Over the last few years, we have been supporting Ta'Om even through the pandemic. Through constant contact with locals, we have supported their needs and seen how the area has flourished over the years. To continue giving them our support and aid, we welcome you to. join us for our mission.

We are looking for those who are general practitioners, pharmacists and even medical students. As for our education activities, we need participants who love teaching and spending quality time with children.

Estimated cost (SGD):
1. Mission Fee: $260 (includes transport and most meals)
2. 5 nights of hotel $200–$250 (depending on rooming status)
3. Airfare to Siem Reap is around $500

Participants of all ages are welcome. Families with participants aged 12–15 must be accompanied by at least one parent. As there are no hotel facilities in Taom, we will be staying at Siem Reap and travelling to and from Taom each day.

Battambang is the capital of Battambang Province and one of the larger cities in Cambodia. Monsignor Enrique Figaredo, the Apostolic Prefect of Battambang, has invited ACTS to work with the poor and needy in education and health with the Salesian sisters who help run the Don Bosco Foundation of Cambodia. So if you have an open heart and willing hands, we invite you to join us in visiting children and helping to spruce up the infrastructure at more than 8 locations in the city and surrounding villages.

ACTS has been visiting Battambang since 2013, and many of our participants have built strong bonds with its people. We have seen the city develop with supermarkets and coffee houses popping up. Still, the rate of development slows as we venture further from the city.

Participants should be physically and mentally well to participate in the mission's activities. While the mission is primarily geared towards participants who are 16 and above, we welcome participants aged 12-73. Families with participants aged 12–15 must be accompanied by at least one parent.
