In the month of November, heavy rainfall has unleashed widespread flooding and landslides across Asia. Countries including Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Sri Lanka have all been severely affected.

The human loss has been heartbreaking. Across the affected countries, more than 1,000 precious lives have been tragically lost, and hundreds more remain missing as search-and-rescue efforts continue.

In this time of difficulty, CHARIS and our partners are working to provide urgent relief to alleviate their suffering. Together, with your prayers and generosity, we can continue to bring relief, comfort, and dignity to our brothers and sisters across Asia who are struggling to rebuild their lives.

CHARIS is appealing for SGD 100,000 in support of Caritas Internationalis' national organisations and other partner organisations to provide emergency relief to those affected by floods in the Asia region. Apart from direct donation of funds, where necessary and possible, the donations will be used to purchase emergency relief supplies for impacted victims.

** All donations will be used for the objectives stated. Where there are excess funds after meeting the needs of this specific campaign, or where donations are received after the official closure of the fundraising campaign, the funds will be used for other overseas humanitarian aid and disaster relief efforts of the Archdiocese of Singapore, in accordance with the laws and regulations of Singapore.
