🌄 Hope in the Mountains: Supporting Epiphany Church, Fang  

Background 

Deep in the jungle mountains of Fang, Northern Thailand, Epiphany Church and its parish serve ethnic minority tribal communities living off the electric grid, far from basic infrastructure and public services. 

Many families live in simple huts vulnerable to harsh weather. Access to clean water, education, healthcare, and stable livelihoods remains limited. Yet the Catholic faith of the community is strong. The Church stands as their spiritual home, community center, and source of hope. 

This is our second mission visit to Fang. Having built relationships with Epiphany Church, villagers and School, we now return not only to provide essential aid, but to follow up on long-term development — empowering the community towards greater independence in accordance with the Church’s principle of subsidiarity. 

💛 Why We Are Fundraising 

While faith is strong, resources are limited.  

Recent bad weather has damaged huts and church facilities. Families continue to struggle with poverty, unsafe drinking water, limited schooling resources, and lack of electricity. 

We are raising funds to:

🌿 Our Objectives 

1️⃣ Immediate Relief 
Provide dried food, rice, and essential daily necessities to families facing hardship. 

2️⃣ Infrastructure & Shelter Support 
Repair huts and parish facilities damaged by bad weather. 

3️⃣ Clean Water Access 
Install water tanks to harvest rainwater for safe drinking use. 

4️⃣ Sustainable Lighting 
Provide materials to build solar lamps for day and night use, as the village lives off the electric grid. 

5️⃣ Education Support 
Provide basic school kits and expand digital learning access through our Edbot online education app which is provided without cost by Gebirah. 

6️⃣ Health & Hygiene 
Distribute hygiene kits and provide medical supplies and basic healthcare support. 

7️⃣ Restore Livelihoods 
Support fish farming, pads sewing for income generation and regenerative agriculture initiatives to promote food security and sustainability. 

8️⃣ Humanitarian Flexibility 
Respond to any urgent needs that may arise. 

💧How Funds Will Be Used 

Funds raised will go towards: 

✔ Repairing huts, school and parish facilities 
✔ Installing water harvesting tanks 
✔ Materials for solar lamp construction 
✔ Basic school kits for children 
✔ Hygiene kits and medical supplies 
✔ Livelihood restoration (fish farming, pad production, regenerative agriculture) 
✔ Clearance of container of donations from Gebirah by sea. 
✔ Addressing additional humanitarian needs on the ground
