The post-pandemic crisis in Cambodia has plunged many poor families, including those of our schoolchildren in Lu Phram and Korchombok, into unimaginable hardship. With the collapse of employment opportunities, these families have been forced into living in the city dump, struggling daily for survival. Without stable income, they cannot secure basic necessities or food.

For many children—kindergarten and elementary students—our free, nutritious school lunches are their only reliable meal. Without these lunches, they face the threat of hunger during the critical three-month school vacation

The Salesian Sisters of Cambodia cannot stand by in the face of this urgent crisis. We are committed to supporting at least 330 of these vulnerable families by providing essential food supplies to last through the year-end vacation period.

The Salesian Sisters plan to distribute food supplies to 330 families, each consisting of approximately 6 members, at a cost of SGD $34 per pack. To cover the entire 3-month vacation period, we aim to raise a total of SGD $33,660.

Distribution of humanitarian food aid is targeted to start by the end of November 2024 till January 2025.
